Shahada (declaration of faith – converting to Islam)

When someone wishes to become a Muslim, all they must do is say the shahaha with sincerity. This declaration is:

“I testify that there is no God but Allah and I testify that Muhammah is the messenger of Alllah.”

Ashadu an la ilaha illa illa-ilah, wa ashadu anna muhammadan rasul ullah.

أشهد أن لا إله إلاَّ الله و أشهد أن محمد رسول الله

A Muslim is someone who believes that Allah (this is the Arabic word for God) is one, with no partners. They believe that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was sent as the final messenger to show us how to worship Allah and live in a way that is pleasing to Him.

The Shahada is the first pillar of Islam and it can be said at any time if a person believes. If you feel you’re ready to convert to Islam, we can arrange for you to come and say your shahada with us.
